Boxing Fitness

Many sessions include boxing fitness as part of an effective workout. I teach correct form and technique to enable clients to punch harder and faster. Doing boxing specific training doesn’t mean getting in the ring and going a few rounds with Rocky. There’s much more to it than that as a form of exercise.

Why boxing is great:

  • Variety of drills to keep training fun and interesting.
  • Combines a cardiovascular workout with muscular endurance. Meaning it burns fat and builds lean muscle.
  • Reduces stress.
  • Works perfectly as part of a HIIT (high intensity interval training) programme.
  • Minimal equipment necessary – just a pair of gloves and sparing pads.

Most of my regular clients had never put on a pair of boxing gloves before they started with me, and had no real idea how to punch properly. Some jumped at the chance to learn, whilst others were more reluctant. Since I started implementing boxing into sessions, 7 years ago, I’ve only had 2 clients not love it – so much so that I sometimes get complaints when I don’t plan it into a workout!
